Heilige Kerne
Group exhibition featuring Du Zhenjun, Li Fang, Luo Mingjun, Ma Desheng, Ru Xiaofan, Shi Qi, Qu Leilei and Xiaotong An & Wang Du (new participants).

‚Heilige Kerne‘ — meaning ‚sacred nucleus‚ — brings together eight leading artists from the contemporary Chinese art scene in a powerful exhibition centred on themes that remain fundamental: memory, the sacred, the body, resistance and transformation. The selection includes historical, rare and new masterworks that reveal the deeply personal and enduring essence of creation.

Opening event: Tuesday, 10 June

With the exceptional presence of the artist duo Wang Du and Xiaotong An, renowned figures on the international art scene. This moment of reunion and artistic resonance will mark a symbolic and vibrant opening.
The artists:
Du Zhenjun is a pioneer of conceptual digital photography who draws inspiration from Bosch and Bruegel to create dystopian panoramas in which visual overload mirrors surveillance society and digital chaos.

Li Fang explores the body, identity and memory through layered compositions that blend symbolic imagery and poetic gestures.

Luo Mingjun works with silence and absence, creating drawings and paintings that evoke fragile traces of time and introspection.

Ma Desheng, a founding member of the Stars Group, will present an ink-on-paper piece from his Beijing period that reflects the expressive and rebellious energy of the Chinese avant-garde in the 1980s.

Ru Xiaofan unveils a large-scale painting inspired by Velázquez, blending classical elegance with playful distortions and critical reinterpretations of portraiture and ornament.

Shi Qi combines traditional Chinese brushwork with contemporary abstraction to capture the tension between form and disintegration, balance and impulse.

Qu Leilei, another founder of the Stars Group, presents a masterful ink work on Xuan paper, fusing calligraphic discipline with profound humanist introspection. This rare and poignant piece is a highlight of the exhibition.

Xiaotong An unveils the inaugural piece in her Lego Bricks series, exploring modularity, childhood memory and the pixelated construction of identity via a playful yet profound visual language.

Wang Du, an internationally acclaimed artist known for his dissection of media culture, presents works that critique the spectacle of information and the construction of reality. His presence alongside his long-standing peers and the emerging generation adds a critical global perspective to Heilige Kerne.

Heilige Kerne is not just an exhibition; it is a resonant dialogue between legacy and reinvention, offering a journey through the sacred nucleus that endure within the ever-changing landscape of contemporary art.

„Heilige Kerne” vereint acht führende Künstler der zeitgenössischen chinesischen Kunstszene, die sich in ihren Werken mit grundlegenden Themen wie Erinnerung, Heiligkeit, Körper, Widerstand und Transformation auseinandersetzen. Die Auswahl umfasst historische, seltene und neue Meisterwerke, die die zutiefst persönliche und beständige Essenz des Schaffens der Künstler offenbaren.

Mit der außergewöhnlichen Anwesenheit des Künstlerduos Wang Du und Xiaotong An, die zu den renommierten Persönlichkeiten der internationalen Kunstszene zählen. Dieser Moment der Wiedervereinigung und künstlerischen Resonanz wird eine symbolträchtige und lebendige Eröffnung markieren.

Die Künstler:
Du Zhenjun ist ein Pionier der konzeptuellen Digitalfotografie. Er lässt sich von Bosch und Bruegel inspirieren, um dystopische Panoramen zu schaffen, in denen visuelle Überlastung, die Überwachungsgesellschaft und das digitale Chaos thematisiert werden.

Li Fang erforscht Körper, Identität und Erinnerung durch vielschichtige Kompositionen, die symbolische Bildsprache und poetische Gesten miteinander verbinden.

Luo Mingjun arbeitet mit Stille und Abwesenheit und schafft Zeichnungen und Gemälde, die fragile Spuren von Zeit und Introspektion evozieren.

Ma Desheng, Gründungsmitglied der Stars Group, präsentiert eine Arbeit aus seiner Pekinger Zeit. Sie spiegelt die expressive und rebellische Energie der chinesischen Avantgarde der 1980er Jahre wider.

Ru Xiaofan enthüllt ein großformatiges Gemälde, das von Velázquez inspiriert ist und klassische Eleganz mit verspielten Verzerrungen und kritischen Neuinterpretationen der Porträtmalerei und Ornamentik verbindet.

Shi Qi kombiniert traditionelle chinesische Pinseltechnik mit zeitgenössischer Abstraktion, um die Spannung zwischen Form und Auflösung, Gleichgewicht und Impuls einzufangen.

Qu Leilei, ein weiterer Gründer der Stars Group, präsentiert eine meisterhafte Tuschearbeit auf Xuan-Papier. Darin verbindet er kalligraphische Disziplin mit tiefgründiger humanistischer Introspektion. Dieses seltene und ergreifende Werk ist ein Höhepunkt der Ausstellung.

Xiaotong An präsentiert das erste Werk ihrer „Lego Bricks”-Serie. Darin setzt sie sich mit Modularität, Kindheitserinnerungen und der pixeligen Konstruktion von Identität durch eine verspielte und doch tiefgründige Bildsprache auseinander.

Der international renommierte Künstler Wang Du, der für seine Analyse der Medienkultur bekannt ist, präsentiert Werke, die das Spektakel der Information und die Konstruktion der Realität kritisieren. Seine Präsenz neben seinen langjährigen Kollegen und der aufstrebenden Generation verleiht „Heilige Kerne” eine kritische globale Perspektive.

„Heilige Kerne” ist nicht nur eine Ausstellung, sondern ein resonanter Dialog zwischen Vermächtnis und Neuerfindung. Er bietet eine Reise durch die heiligen Kerne, die in der sich ständig verändernden Landschaft der zeitgenössischen Kunst fortbestehen.

Heilige Kerne, qui signifie « noyaux sacrés », rassemble huit artistes majeurs de la scène artistique contemporaine chinoise dans une exposition puissante axée sur des thèmes fondamentaux : la mémoire, le sacré, le corps, la résistance et la transformation. La sélection comprend des œuvres historiques, rares et nouvelles qui révèlent l’essence profondément personnelle et durable de la création artistique. L’événement d’ouverture aura lieu le mardi 10 juin, en présence exceptionnelle du duo d’artistes Wang Du et Xiaotong An, figures renommées de la scène artistique internationale. Ce moment de retrouvailles et de résonance artistique marquera une ouverture symbolique et vibrante. Les artistes : Du Zhenjun est un pionnier de la photographie numérique conceptuelle s’inspirant de Bosch et Bruegel pour créer des panoramas dystopiques dans lesquels la surcharge visuelle reflète la société de surveillance et le chaos numérique.

Li Fang explore le corps, l’identité et la mémoire à travers des compositions stratifiées qui mêlent imagerie symbolique et gestes poétiques. Luo Mingjun travaille avec le silence et l’absence, créant des dessins et des peintures qui évoquent les traces fragiles du temps et l’introspection.

Ma Desheng, membre fondateur du groupe Stars, présentera une œuvre à l’encre sur papier de sa période pékinoise qui reflète l’énergie expressive et rebelle de l’avant-garde chinoise des années 1980.

Ru Xiaofan dévoilera une peinture à grande échelle inspirée de Velázquez, mêlant élégance classique, distorsions ludiques et réinterprétations critiques du portrait et de l’ornement.

Shi Qi allie la technique traditionnelle chinoise du pinceau à l’abstraction contemporaine pour capturer la tension entre forme et désintégration, équilibre et impulsion.

Qu Leilei, autre fondateur du groupe Stars, présentera une œuvre magistrale à l’encre sur papier Xuan, fusionnant la discipline calligraphique et une profonde introspection humaniste. Cette œuvre rare et poignante est l’un des points forts de l’exposition.

Xiaotong An dévoile la première pièce de sa série Lego Bricks, qui explore la modularité, les souvenirs d’enfance et la construction pixélisée de l’identité à travers un langage visuel ludique mais profond.

Wang Du, artiste de renommée internationale connu pour sa dissection de la culture médiatique, présente des œuvres qui critiquent le spectacle de l’information et la construction de la réalité. Sa présence aux côtés de ses pairs de longue date et de la nouvelle génération apporte une perspective critique mondiale à Heilige Kerne.

Heilige Kerne n’est pas seulement une exposition, c’est un dialogue résonnant entre héritage et réinvention, offrant un voyage à travers les cœurs sacrés qui perdurent dans le paysage en constante évolution de l’art contemporain.
