Yves Poyet, born in Paris, is a French painter and draftsman.
Yves Poyet is the son of an ironmonger, his grandfather was associated with the birth of the La Victorine film studios in Nice; and his great-grandfather, Louis Poyet, a friend of Gustave Eiffel, was a wood engraver from the end of the nineteenth century.
Publicist and creator of multicolored graphics, Yves Poyet studies at the National School of Applied Arts in Paris and obtains a diploma in mural painting. He pursues his training at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris and at the Legueult workshop.
His works are full of restraint but convey the vital breath beloved by the Taoists. As a Chinese artist would, Yves Poyet makes his charcoal from varied woods which create nuanced shades for the trees he depicts; he also fabricates his own pastels for his landscape paintings. His works appear in numerous private and public collections in France, Europe and Asia as well as in the United States; they also illustrate collections of poetry and children’s books.
Yves Poyet exhibits in Europe, in the United States and in Asia, and has been working in a small village in Burgundy for the past forty years.

Publiciste, créateur de graphismes multicolores, Yves Poyet étudie à l’École Nationale des Arts Appliqués de Paris et obtient un diplôme de peinture murale. Il continue sa formation à l’École Nationale des Beaux-Arts de Paris et dans l’atelier Legueult.
Ses œuvres sont tout en retenue mais avec de ce souffle vital cher aux taoïstes. Yves Poyet tel un artiste chinois fabrique ses fusains à partir de bois divers et variés qui donnent des teintes très nuancées à ses arbres, il fait aussi ses pastels pour ses paysages. Ses œuvres figurent dans de nombreuses collections privée et publiques en France, en Europe et en Asie, et aux États-Unis, elles illustrent également des recueils de poésie et des livres pour enfants.
Yves Poyet expose en Europe, aux États-Unis et en Asie, travaille dans un petit village de Bourgogne depuis quarante ans.
